Memory Spaces
The Emerging Artist Award Winner 2022 is showing new work.
Rosa Andraschek’s exhibition focuses on the obscured and overlooked aspects of Austria's past, particularly the imprints of forced labor during World War II. Andraschek's works, rooted in her background in political science and contemporary history, reveal silent echoes of history that pervade public spaces yet remain unnoticed.
Central to the exhibition is Andraschek’s video installation, which resurrects the stories of individuals tied to Austria’s forced labor camps. The work is woven with historical insights and personal tales that serve as a conduit for voices that have long been muted, illuminating the resilience and struggles of those who are often just a footnote in history.
Rosa Andraschek (*1995, Korneuburg) lives and works in Vienna.
