Our international Artist in Residence program provides artists with time, space, and resources to focus on their creative work in an inspiring environment. Each residency includes a studio apartment, a €900 scholarship, bicycle use for local transport, health insurance, and networking opportunities, thanks to financial support from Austria’s Federal Ministry for Arts and Culture (BMKÖS).
The Residents were nominated and selected by an international jury consisting of Etienne Bernard (director of the Frac Bretagne in Rennes), Cathrin Mayer (director of Kunstverein Braunschweig), and Mirela Baciak (director Salzburger Kunstverein).
Edona Ademi is a Berlin-based artist and filmmaker whose practice revolves around storytelling through performative installations and moving images. Her work explores hauntings and longings, tracing and challenging how power dynamics inform the politics of representation and imagination.
Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino (*Buritizeiro, 1989) lives in and works from many places. Through score, sculpture, text, photography, sound, and video, the artist addresses the remaining structures of the transatlantic colonial project, focusing on institutional critique, language, and objecthood.
Charles-Arthur Feuvrier (*1997, France) currently lives and works in Marseille. He explores the complexities of globalised cultures and the collective imaginaries they shape through different mediums. He is currently interested in self-optimization discourses, new-age beliefs, and their presence in entertainment content.
Tania Gheerbrant (*1990, Paris) lives and works in Paris and Zurich. Her work, based on long-term research, mainly takes shapes in installations, videos and printed matters. She is particularly interested in the history of psychiatric institutions and the anti-psychiatry movement. By developing a filmic, visual and graphic practice she leads her research on listening and care into plastic forms.
Rayane Mcirdi (*1993, Asnières) lives and works in Paris. He creates video works that blur the lines between documentary and fiction. The actors in his films are family members or close friends filmed in their homes or in familiar places. His films capture intimate or collective events rooted in everyday life. The video artist acts an ethnographer, collecting these micro stories.
Paula Sikta (*2001, India) is an Art historian, Curator and Cultural Manager, raised in Madrid, Spain. With an MA in Contemporary Art and Visual Culture (UCM, UAM and MNCARS), Paula explores the intersections between memory, identity and representation. Currently, her research focuses on time as a tool of resistance to rethink collective memories and personal narratives, exploring human and non-human temporalities.
We congratulate the selected artists and curators!
