Johanna Kandl visited the Russian garrison in Wünsdorf, near Berlin, three times, in order to witness the withdrawal of the Russian troops. Subsequently, accompanied by the photographer Margherita Spiluttini, she travelled to Wjasma and Twer, where the new towns for the Russian Soldiers from the former GDR wehe being bulit.

In this exhibition, which included paintings on canvas, photographs, texts, interviews etc., Johanna Kandl used her experiences and the material she collected in the course of these journeys. A catalogue accompanying this exhibition is published by the Ritter Verlag, Klagenfurt.
